A sunny summer fair, and a heartfelt thank you

The sun stayed out, the cake stall sold out, and the field was full of families for our biggest summer fair yet. Thank you to everyone who came, helped, baked, or simply cheered from the sidelines.

Children ran the lemonade stand, the younger classes performed two songs they had been practising for weeks, and the staff team lost, gracefully, to a class of nine-year-olds at the tug of war.

Every penny raised goes straight back into the things our pupils use every day, from new library books to seeds for next year's garden.

Days like this are a reminder of what makes Somerschool tick. Not a single building or programme, but a community that turns up for its children.
