We are delighted to share that our outdoor classroom is finally open. Tucked beside the orchard, it gives every class a calm, shaded space to learn in the fresh air.
The idea grew from the children themselves. Last autumn they asked, quite reasonably, why so much of the day happened indoors. Staff and families took the question seriously, and a small build over the spring holidays did the rest.
Teachers are already booking it for science observations, reading circles, and quiet drawing. There is something about being outside that helps young writers find the right word and helps busy minds settle.
Our thanks go to the parent volunteers who gave their weekends to sand, paint, and plant. The space is theirs as much as ours, and it will be well used for years to come.
